I don't really have a whole to to say about this outfit. Its one of my "misses" the skirt is a little small, making everything look too tight. It was the first time I wore it , and it felt a little tight, but after seeing the pics, I know it is way too small :)

I realized recently that I didn't have any pics of my coat. I got this at the Loft for about $50 earlier this fall. I think someone had accidently marked it down with some other coats, and I snatched it up right away. At the register it rang up much higher, but the manager was the one ringing me up, and just said she was going to honor the price, before I even said to put it back. I know they are supposed to, but in this day and age, so many of them don't. It's not very cold here, so I don't need much.

I really like this jacket. I have two of them, one in a red color, and one in brown. Right now they have a few left in Women's Petites, but they pop in and out of stock. And they are down to $22. Great deal! :)

Talbot's February Catalog

After a hectic week or so, I finally got a chance to sit down with my new February 2012 Talbot's catalog. I am very impressed with the merchandise in this one!

The main color is Blue, mostly Navy, with some cobalt and sky tossed in for good measure - and the colors they chose to go along with it are mostly purples and greens, which look great with it. They have a great new featured print, which might be bold for some - the Ikat - but I think its cute.

This issue also has an expanded and well-featured suit section in the back. I have seen some complaints lately about Talbot's not offering as many suits, even though I think they were there, just hidden away in the middle of the catalog out of sight. In this one, they give a full, well highlighted section covering several new fabrications for the Spring.

My friend and I were laughing.... I wore this to the grocery store, and for errands. I don't get out a whole lot working at home, and I love wearing fun stuff like this. :-P

Anyways, this jacket is the bulk of what I picked up during the Loft $50 off $100 Facebook coupon and I thought it was very nautical in the store. But when I brought it home, it was sooo preppy lol! Love it.

These are some super cheap boots I got from Avenue last year. They fit really well, and were like $30 or something like that. Kimberly was talking about great boot deals there recently as well.

IFB has a cute "assignment" where you post pics of your "red carpet look" - and if I were going to the Oscars, I would wear this...

Yeah, its a wedding dress...but I love it!! I have been married for awhile, but I put this page in my "style binder" Sept 2010. LOL~ I guess I just like the dress, cause I certainly don't need a wedding dress. Oscar de la Renta Dress, Louboutins and an Alexander McQueen clutch. Sounds pricey, but we know they don't have to pay for any of it. Best deal ever LOL!

When I bought these shoes and bag, I told hubby there was no way I was going to wear them together. I thought it would just be way over the top. So I was getting ready, and I told hubby I was going to wear the bag, and he was like you *HAVE* to do the shoes too. So....I did.

And I loved it.

I am not usually a huge fan of belts over things on me, since I am soooo shortwaisted, but everyonce in a while, I want to do the belt over cardi thing. :)

JC Penney is Doing Away with Sales

I don't actually shop at JC Penney too much, but i happened to hear last night on the news that they are no longer going to have constant sales as part of their pricing structure, but instead will mark everything down 40% and go from there. I am very interested to see how it will work!

The increased discounting has been a vicious cycle that only feeds into shoppers' insatiable appetite for bigger and better discounts. In fact, whereas it took 38 percent off to get shoppers to buy 10 years ago, it now takes discounts of 60 percent, Johnson says.

At Penney, the regular price on an item that costs $10 to make rose 43 percent, from $28 in 2002 to $40 in 2011. But because of all of its sales and other promotions, what it actually ended up selling for rose only 15 cents, from $15.80 to $15.95 during that same period.

This is a very interesting article, and I think that Ron Johnson, Penney's new CEO and former Apple / Target alum is onto something. If you get a chance you should read it all. It covers the new pricing strategy in detail.

I may have mentioned I have really been into sequins this year. I got two sequin tanks for $15 over the Thanksgiving holiday from Talbots, and this is one of them. This velvet jacket is from Talbot's Holiday 2010, but its still online, in WP, but you might be able to find it at a clearance outlet, there were a ton in the GA clearance center a week ago for $25. Its beautiful. I just realised I am in Talbots head to toe.

I got this bag over the summer. I liked how old-fashioned it looked. I haven't seen a frame bag in years! When I was a teenager, I bought a bunch of them from the 50s at a flea market or somewhere, and had them for ages. I kinda wish I still had them.

CHEESE! Haha, I might have ignored this pic existed except for the great shot of the jewelry. This is the infamous Michelle Obama necklace. Talbot's sent it to me last year and I love it - I pull it out for prettty much any special occasion. :D

Today, I had on the work at home uniform, jeans, tee and cardigan. And of course, I am always cold, so a scarf as well. I do love these zebra shoes. They are calf hair flat from Talbots. I have had a weird time lately with Tal's shoes. I bought these, which are narrow, and they are a tad loose still. Then I bought some heels, and they are narrow and just a little tight in the toe box. Just not as consistent as they used to be.

Today I have on my newest favorite thing from Talbots. This corduroy jacket fits soo well! I also bought it in brown, and am considering grey. I think I will just stick with the two I have though, might find a grey jacket elsewhere, and not want to get it because I have the cord one. I have on a black base again, this time a dress from Ross, and leggings from the Loft. Also, my $35 Sam and Libby boots :)

I love this outfit! The double breasted sweater here is a thing of beauty and only $32 during the Talbot's red hanger sale. Also, one of my favorite things to do is wear a "black base" and toss a jacket or sweater over it. Its a black tank and then skirt and tights, or black pants. This is usually what I wear to go shopping, cause it makes it really easy to judge the new pieces I am trying on. Also, I saw this skirt on a Target clearance rank and grabbed it without trying it, it was perfect!

Talbots has added their 2012 Spring and Summer lookbook to the website.

I like a few of the color palettes, in particular, all the navy. Love navy.

I am a huge sucker for the ikat prints, looks like top, dress and clutch in this navy. Love the clutch, and hoping for a skirt.

Lots of hot pink and orange combos. These remind me of Lily Pulitzer. Especially the lace one.

Um, and I guess floral on floral. And rose leggings.

Last time we talked about the Moto Jacket then Colorblocking! Our next trend is the bell skirt. Runways have large oversized skirts and poufy overlays - our versions will be much milder in stores. It is suggested to use a wide leather belt at the top to create visual interest.

So, I generally don't wear this type of skirt, but there are some reallly cute ones I have had my eye on for a bit, from talbots, of course. :)

I have seen several moto jackets on sale recently. While the Talbots sweater jacket isn't a moto jacket, I thought it fit some of the details of the Fall 2012 trend, and included it. The Weight Loss Journey Continues...

Hi everyone, its the start of a new year, and so its time to make some new goals. As some of you know, I lost some weight over the last year or so. My before and after are above, and, its time for my after to become my before. :)

In January 2011, I decided to start putting my clothing budget towards a personal trainer, and got into a gym. I am 5'2, and I started at 227 lbs. My trainer and I set a goal of 180, which I was then to maintain for a few months before setting a new goal. I worked out, a lot. And reset some eating habits that were not the best for me. I went to pilates twice a week, yoga once and saw my trainer twice a week. I did cardio almost every day.

I hit the 180 goal in late April 2011, and started on "maintenance" - we planned to start working towards a new goal in July or August, depending on how well maintenance went. Life always has a way of tossing out your best laid plans, and in July we moved away from North Carolina to Virginia. I always "meant" to go sign up for a gym, but let life got too busy.

Well, here is it January 2012, and I still weighed in at 182.2. I don't think my trainer intended me to pause this long. LOL!

At any rate, I have signed up for a gym, and its time to go hard in the paint again.

Now, I need to decide if I want to hire a trainer again, which was amazing, or if I should just go on my own for awhile. I still need to pick up the pilates and yoga classes, if I decide to go that route again, but what is important is that I am moving forward.

Anyways, this isn't a weight loss blog, so I will stop there for now, but hope you don't mind if I share progress notes with you from time to time. You can help keep me honest. :)

I suppose this counts as my New Year's Resolution, and thanks for reading my ramble!

Petite Arsenal - The Pencil Skirt

I have an article linked in the header of this blog called "Dressing Tips" for the Short and Curvy. This week, I am going to expand a little on each of the tips, with some additional images and notes. I have what I call my "Petite Arsenal". Its a set group of style notes that I know won't fail me while I am choosing clothes. That's not to say I stick with these all the time, but its a good guide for me, and it might help you as well.

The first workhorse in my group is the good ole pencil skirt. Those of you who know me are not surprised, I know. :) I wear pencil skirts A LOT. They really define my figure and fit the image I want to project well.

My personal favorites are heavy ponte knit or lightweight wool skirts. There are a few key points to making sure you get the right fit. Make sure the skirt is not too snug, but that it lies close to the body. Also, experiment a little with the waistline. I am very short-waisted, so I find that a high-waist skirt is very flattering for me. Play around with length, **they** say “knee length,” but I find something just a touch longer or just a touch shorter is much more flattering for me. Pencil skirts are super versatile as well. You can pair them with anything. Get one in denim and wear it whenever you would normally reach for your jeans.

I think a skirt helps avoid so many fit issues petites have with pants. We might have short legs and a normal rise, or a petite rise and torso, and need misses length in the leg of the pants. With skirts, so much of that complicated formula is erased. I often feel like pants that fit me perfectly in the rise are just a little short in length and to keep from being to frustrated, I try and buy a few pair of pants that fir perfectly, and then fill in the rest of my wardrobe with skirts.

2011 Was the Year of the Movie for Me

My Harry Potter viewing outfit from this summer - I dressed for Gryffindor for the final outfit - even though I feel more kinship with my Ravenclaw girls. (LOL, nerd talk over)

I was reading some articles earlier, and it said the average # of movies a person sees in a year (in a theatre) is 6 - I saw 14 - and maybe it will be 15 after tomorrow - might go see Ghost Protocol. I love going to a theatre and sitting in the darkness, with popcorn watching a movie on the big screen. And yes, sometimes I dress "up" for the movie XD

And I don't really see the movies marketed overtly to women, no Friends with Benefits or Bridesmaids here. I like the summer blockbusters with action, and explosions, and heroes. Oh, the heroes. :) There were some really fun ones this year, and I am even more excited about the next!

Talbots Red Hanger Sale

Hello all my Talbots fan-atics!

The Red Hanger sale started yesterday to the thrill and frustration of the Talbot's shoppers out there.

As you know, Tal's has had the 40/50/60 deal going on for a few weeks, and if you took advantage of the 60% off, you may have ended up with some slightly better prices than the current red hanger. But if you missed it, the Red Hanger will end up working out just fine for you. Also, there are some new pieces in the sale section, that were not there during the 40/50/60 - they are marked down VERY nicely for a first round.

Anyways, in case you are shopping the sale, here are some items I have picked up over the last couple of weeks, with some notes / reviews for fun. :) And don't forget, just because an item is gone online, doesn't mean its gone from stores. I have some good luck asking the "Wizards" on the FB page to do a store search for me - or you can do a store search on your own from the site. I have good luck finding items in stock in Dallas, TX and Boston, MA (50 mile radius). Best of luck ladies!!

Abstract jacquard skirt - the web image of this skirt does it no justice. Its silvery and black, and not sateen looking as the pic might imply. Its actually, a very substantial wool bend that lays beautifully. A very pleasant surprise, since I wasn't sure what to expect from the photo.

Skyla Leopard Pumps - I had some reservations about buying pump with a fabric upper. I almost always do leather, and thought this might looks a bit "prom" or "wedding" satiny. It does not. Its really a beautiful shoe, and I love the height. Great fit on the narrow

Talbots Grace Fit Cord Jacket - Okay, you need this jacket. If you wear jackets, this is a must have. I bought it in two colors, and if they had others in my size, I would get them. It fits like a dream. I wore this "Cabernet" out shopping, so I saw myself getting in and out of it (alot LOL) and it looked wonderful - that's when I went back and got the brown as well. I would not however, recommend the evergreen color without seeing it person, its very brown, and kind of an odd color.

Mixed Stitch Cardi - this is super cute IRL, an I bought it in two colors. It fits much more like the plus size images they have on the site. I am not sure how much use one gets out of such a heavy cardi with short sleeves, but I saw a few Tal's employees wearing this over the past week - most had a long sleeve tee underneath.

Presa Bow Platforms - I had been eyeing these since summer, never grabbed them, but for the price on sale, I couldn't resist. Great fit (I wear narrow shoes) as always.

Gidget Haircalf Ballet Flats When I bought these the other day, I paid $15 for them. I will preface with that. They are a gorgeous calf hair ballet shoe, and I love them. But $60 is a little steep, IMO. I would wait til they are the in $40 price range, if you really love them. Great fit (again, narrow) and adorable, but just a simple little ballet flat, not much substance to them.

Signature fit Black Rinse Slim Trouser - These are a denim trouser, and the first jean from Talbots I can tuck into a boot. Great weight and fit.

Sweater Jacket - This one is super cute and warm. The petite hit me perfectly on the hip. Not as soft as some of the other sweaters this season, but super cute open or closed.

Zebra Turnlock Satchel - This is a really neat Calf hair bag in a zebra print. I wore this out shopping and to dinner, and got sooo many compliments on it! Just something a little funky and fun.

Lace Tee - Merry Christmas Everyone!

Have any of you read The Hunger Games series? I really, really enjoyed the first book of the series, which is going to be a movie this Spring. (Trailer below, if interested) Anyways, I had heard there was going to be line of nail polish out for the film, and I wondered what colors a YA novel about a gritty dystopian future society would inspire. Well, here they are! And I really like these. I can see a good number of the top and bottom rows ending up in my collection!

Pretty Basic

So, this is pretty basic. A Loft dress, some tights and boots. I have really been digging the knit dresses they put out this fall/winter. Very comfy and flattering. A bit of a heavier knit, keeping it from being too clingy AND they retain their shape - no weird baggy spots.

I bought this during one of those $15, $25, $35 deals they had earlier this season. Honestly, I just wish they would price their items properly, and drop all these continuous and weird specials. This dress should cost about $45 full price, and then drop on clearance. The original price on this bad boy was $89 dollars. Who bought this dress for $89? Hopefully no one. I have other complaints such as unlined jackets and "loosely" hemmed pants. All totally ok at the right price point. $100 items made of cotton/rayon/poly blends isn't it.

I bought this skirt the weekend it came out in the fall, during the "Fall Preview Event" and today is my first day wearing it. Its a grey ponte knit fabric, with a very brown mauve lave overlay. I loved it the min I laid eyes on it. But its a tricky little thing to match up with stuff, although I do have another outfit in mind for it.

Today, with with purple and oatmeal and brown. Sounds odd, but when its laid all out together, I think it come out ok :)

I have been loving all the animal prints out this fall and early winter. I am eyeballing some calfhair cheetah pumps to add to the "collection". SO I have been in hiatus for about a year with the weight loss, and move ete etc. But I feel like I am in a good place to pop back up. I see many of my fave gals have moved on, and I need replacement reading! If you have a blog, let me know so I can add you - or any must follow women, shoot me their way. :)

Well, on to the clothes! As I have changed from in-office to in-home work, my wardrobe has been transitioning a bit - more Loft than Tal's - though Tal's still holds an important place in my heart.

The sweater is one of those back zip babies, which fit great for petites. This is a regular skirt, not petite, I couldn't find this in petite anywhere by the time I realised I needed it, but it fits well as misses. I have been shopping alot on 40% off and $25 off $50 coupons, so my purchase pricing will be effected by that.

This corduroy is so great for the season, esp with boots. I had a hard time finding one I really liked, so many were short this season. Which was kind of odd, considering most skirts were pencil, and longer lengths. (Thank goodness, remember last year, when everything was minis??!?!)

So, I have been doing a little shopping for the Winter.

Working from home, I dont need that much stuff. I have a few things for the weeks I am called into the office, but overall, I haven't had a huge need to shop. I did need some things for winter, so here are a few goodies I have picked up.

Someone made a price mistake on this in my store, and I got it for $50.00 But its gorgeous in person.

Hey guys! Miss me?

So I realize that I have been a bit remiss in our relationship. Haha. But I have good reason. I have been working out at the gym several times a week, and have lost 20 lbs in the past 10 weeks. What this means is that none of my clothes fit.

I have never really felt out of place in my body - never felt the urge to diet or lose weight, basically, I liked how I looked. But recently, I have noticed I am super out of shape, trouble going up and down stairs, walking with dd around the lake, etc. I also have a horrible family history littered with diabetes and high blood pressure. So, being that I am not getting any younger. (Hmpf) I decided I needed to get back into the gym - the weight loss is a side thing for me, the workouts being the most important.

I have kept a few things in smaller sizes from years past, but not that much, so I am kinda hodgepodging it together. And since I am still losing, I am not ready to invest in a new wardrobe.

So, I am going to try and pop in every now and again, but for now, we are going to call this a semi-hiatus. :-)

My review:

I was allowed to chose any suit on the site, and while several caught my eye, I saw that Delta Burke had a collection available. Ok, so I cannot lie, I knew I would pick one of those because there was nothing I used to love better than watching the Sugarbaker sisters on Designing Women. One of my fave scenes is when Julia defended her sister Suzanne with the "Night the Lights went out in Georgia" speech in the "Beauty Contest" episode. Good times, good times.

Ok, so knowing that I was going to wear a Delta Burke suit narrowed it down for me right away, they have so many suits, that was the first big step. Next, "modesty" is a big issue for me and swimsuits. I have rather Victorian-esque sensibilities when it comes to clothing these days (LOL) so I knew I wanted something with shorts or a skirt. Now, I have never had a suit with a skirt (or skirtini), so I thought I would give that a try. So, I ended up selecting the Classic & Flattering Floral Fancy Halter Skirtini by Delta Burke to review for the blog.

I love the print on this swimsuit. Its similar to the print in the first photo above, dark blue, white and gold. The swim suit fits very nicely, is comfortable and true to size. Now I am just waiting for the summer months to come forth!

Hi friends,

How is everyone doing? Good I hope. I have just spent the better part of my lunch catching up on some blog reading, and yet still more that 1,000 posts to read :-) I hope you'll all forgive me if I keep my commenting brief.

One of my fave blogs to read is Fast Food and Fast Fashion, authored by Elle. Her comments are funny and sweet, she seems just the kind of person you'd enjoy having as a friend. Be sure and check her out, if you don't already.

Today, I have on a lovely PINK cardigan from Talbot's. This is the "Charming Cardigan" which people often compare to a JCrew Jackie. I think they look a little like a Jackie, but the sleeves are looser on the Charming Cardi - which makes sense, I think the Charming Cardi has been one of Talbot's offerings since the store opened.

The top underneath the cardigan is a sweater LOL. I felt weird wearing a sweater with a sweater, but it was the right length, so there it is LOL. This is a sweater from the Loft and was about $9. Its from about 2-3 years ago. I bet a lot of you Loft shoppers have it too.

What else do I have on? Oh, this black and white skirt, has been seen many times before - I got this from New York And Company before they insisted that all skirts must remain at a 15 inch hemline. :-P So, a couple of years ago. I spent all of $5 on it.

This is one of my favorite shirts, I got it from Talbots ages ago. I love the ruching in the bust, it gives lots of room for - er, well...the bust. :-)

Well, 2011 - already out of January! Where does the time go?

So, IDK why the tights look like such a different color in the images. They are the same brown as the boots IRL. They are "assets" brand from Target.

This jacket is from Talbots, last fall. Its one of my faves. The top is also from Talbots, from Feb09

Skirt was an oldie from Loft - one of the great clearance conquests.

Boots are the $12.99 pair from the Avenue. I have got quite a bit of use from these guys.

Macys Clothing and GIveaway Winner

Hey everyone, I had a question in the comments about Macy's and plus sizing. The Macy's I used to shop in Tampa has a large plus size section on the second floor. This department carried most of their store brands, such as Charter Club and INC as well as some other brands such as Tommy Hilfiger and Michael Kors. And they carried 0X/ 12W! Which I love, its hard to find that size. Also, if you are an inbetween, many of their brands offer an 18 in misses sizes.

Confession: I have this weird thing with Macy's - when I feel like I have a lack of patterns in my closet, I go into Macy's and just grab some tops until I feel fully "patterned" again. Haha. They carry the best "non-solids"

Hey everyone -

Its back to the cold weather basics for me! Sweaters and scarves seem to be my life these days. Hoping for the sun to come back soon.

I know everyone has been asked, but do you guys have any resolutions? I usually don't do resolutions, but I thought I would try it this year. So I came up with one. I plan to try and wean myself off regular soda. I drink ALOT of soda. Like 2-3 cokes a day, every day. So, my big resolution is to cut waaay back. Exciting no? :-P

Hello friends!

Today is New Year's Eve and I cannot believe its going to be 2011 tomorrow!! Crazy Talk!!

Yesterday I wore some of my new-ish goodies I have mentioned recently. I would like you to direct your attention downward.

These are the $12 Avenue boots I mentioned a week or so ago. Ok, ok, no one will mistake them for Ralph Lauren, but for $12, I have NO complaints. I have slightly wide calves, not thin enough for regular boots, and usually if I get wide calf boots, they are way too wide. The reviews on these seemed to indicate they were slightly wide, and yes! Perfection!

A note if you might look into this boot: Most of my shoes I own are medium, and several pairs are narrow. The website says these are wide width. I thought it wouldn't matter with a boot, and expected to just have lots of extra room in the foot - but there is not - it fits just a tiny bit bigger than a regular size shoe. So be aware if you do need a wide shoe, this boot is not a true wide width.

I am also wearing that Talbot's Corduroy jacket I mentioned yesterday in my Red Hanger Sale post. It fits so nicely. I really am considering the grey...idk, I always get multiples, then have every color when something new comes out. That's not fun at all. :-/

Rounding out this outfit is a t-neck from Newport News, a pretty Pashmina-type scarf I got for Xmas, and some Gap Skinny Curvy Jeans. I don't know what the GAP does to their jeans, but they are always soo soft. Like pajamas.

Talbot's Red Hanger Sale - Warning Long.

Talbot's red hanger sale has been on for a few days, and there is one main thing I really, really want.

And its terribly impractical.

Its red.

And velveteen.

And looks like Christmas.

But I want it anyway. And I keep telling myself I can wear it at least until Valentines Day? (::eyeroll::) It comes in other, more "practical" colors, but this red is so 'delicious' to my eye. IRL, its a little deeper than the photo looks....

Talbots Grace Fit Double Breasted Jacket

I normally don't wear double breasted jackets, but the panel folds back and buttons down onto the lapels, making it not double breasted anymore. Like so:

It makes me want to launch into a Veruca Salt solo. I am mad at myself for not getting it before Christmas, but you know how that is.

....Maybe in the blue velveteen. That feels New Years-ish no?

Ok, ok, enough of my Cranberry Velveteen induced ramblings....there are some great items marked down to very good prices. Some must haves. Actually, I do have each of the following, so not just lip service there. :-)

1. The Scrunch neck Turtleneck. $15.79 - $29.99 depending on color

Yes, its "just" a turtleneck, BUT, the fabric is like a nice t-shirt - remember the nice tees Ann Taylor Loft used to make before the "sheer tissue-tee" explosion of 09? It's that kind of fabric. Lovely. It fits smoothly, and close to the body, but not too close. There are only a few of these online in Misses, Petite, Womens and Women's Petite, (in that lower price) but check local stores too. I do plan to grab an additional color or two in this one.

2. The Grace Fit Corduroy Jacket - $36.74 - $40.49

This little number has been around for some time. And I mostly ignored it because I already have jackets in the two colors that caught my eye. (Good girl) But, then I realized (convinced myself) I have very few jackets in neutral colors, and decided to get it in the rusty/brown color they call "Vicuna brown", which seems to be sold out, for the most part online. Hmm. Well, at any rate, its a great fitting jacket, and there are plenty of colors, some perfect for Spring! Lots of room in the bust. Huzzah. Oh, and of course, fully lined.

3. Talbots Grace Fit Velveteen Jacket $44.22 - $47.22

Apparently, I like my clothing plush, because we have lots of velveteen and corduroy in this segment. So, I know I just waxed poetic about the virtues of the red velveteen jacket. This one, however, is quite different. Something not visible in any of the photos on the site (I don't know why) is a neck strap that reminds me a bit of a moto jacket. It folds back and buttons down, if you do not like this feature, but I think they ought to have shown it buttoned up somewhere online! Oh, and another note, the colors of this are not as vivid as they appear online. That society blue is much more cornflower blue, and less deep IRL. I own it in Pewter, because as you may recall, I needed more neutral jackets in my life.

4. Signature Fit Corduroy Bootcut Pants, $39.74 (or cheaper for a few odd colors) Or Signature Fit Ankle Pants $25.47 (all colors)

These I have in black, and plan to return for a second pair in grey or tan or brown. I love cords because they are like jeans for work. They fit like jeans, but fall into that grey-ish business casual appropriate area. I have found that both the Heritage and Signature fit me fine, but I have to go up a size in the Signature. I find its a closer fit to the body than the Heritage.

So, I feel confident in assuming some of you have also been shopping the sale - what did you get?!!? I want to know. :-) Do you have any of the items on my list already? My inquiring mind wants to know!!

I was looking for some slightly wider calf boots (I just barely don't fit into regulars) and saw on the Frugal Fashion Frenzy blog, Case bought some from the Avenue. So, I mosey on over to the Avenue site, and lo and behold, they have exactly what I am looking for. And today, Monday only, they have 50% off regular prices - and I had a 50% off coupon code just waiting to be used.

Regular price is $49.90, they are on sale today for $24.95, and i used coupon code JLE4472 for an additional 50% off that. So, before tax and shipping, they are $13. After tax and ship, its like $21 or something. I don't know how $50.00 boots will be in real life, but Case liked several pairs she picked up from there, so i think its worth it to try them out! I might go back and grab another pair!!

Casual Friday

Here is a basic casual Friday outfit I wore this week. Nothing fancy. It's been a navy and grey kind of week. They have a type of weather out here that they call "Winter Mix" which means snow, rain, ice, sleet over various periods of the day. The "variety" is fun, but its cold!! LOL
