Hey all, here is the second outfit try with the blue pencil skirt from Talbots. :-) I like this skirt quite a bit. It makes me wish JCrew made skirts in my size, they always have such interesting and colorful pencil skirts that are not in my size. :-/

"Our Signature Floral Pencil Skirt" Talbots $47. Sold out online.
Belted Utility Jacket in Oregano - Gap $16 in store ($25 online, also in
Khaki and Denim)
Denim Shirt - New York and Company $7
Oooh, I like it paired with the denim and "oregano" colors, especially since you left the denim tucked in so it is not the dominant part of the outfit. Skirts in colors like that can be so tough to find the right tops for, but you have once again hit it out of the park!
ReplyDeleteI like the contrast of the very feminine skirt with the more utilitarian style jacket!
ReplyDeleteAlso, I hear you on J Crew! I wear as 12/14 and their 14's mostly make me feel like a stuffed sausage!
I think I didn't have the oportunity to say but I just love your collection of summer jackets.
ReplyDeleteLove the combination you did here with the paterns and colors. It's kind of a safari chic.Very nice.
I love the way you styled this skirt. I always have such a hard time with floral prints because I don't want to look like my grandmother in them, but you made this skirt look so fresh and even a little tough. Love it!
ReplyDeleteI love that skirt! I have looked for it in the store but no luck. Enjoy your day!
ReplyDeleteYou have totally inspired me! I never thought I could wear a pencil skirt because of my shape, but you look so amazing in yours I went to Talbots today (red hanger sale started today) and played around with the sizes until I found one that works. I bought the floral bouquet skirt and I love it! Thanks for the inspiration.
ReplyDeleteI said it before and I'll say it again, that skirt is amazing!!
ReplyDeleteI love this! I have a similar jacket and denim shirt, so I will definitely be recreating this.
ReplyDeleteBTW, I saw the red hanger sale started today. I needed it to wait until NEXT week!
That skirt is beautiful!! I have a talbots giveaway coming soon that I know you will love!!
ReplyDeleteKristen - thanks! I appreciate the comments. :-)
ReplyDeleteNatalie - thanks for the comment. Down with the Crew. haha i kid, i kid. Great for inspiration though!
Nurmisur - thanks!! I love the jackets too. I may have gone a wee bit overboard ha!
FJ - thanks so much! I was def trying to keep it un-mumsy ;-0
Cynthia - awww, well maybe one will turn up in an outlet, if not, there will be something just as fab soon! :-)
Laura - yay! I am sure it looked FANTASTIC! I love my floral bouquet skirt, and I tried both this one and the floral bouquet skirt on in 5 or 6 sizes between the Misses, Women's and Women's Petites before choosing the size. That is one of the things I love about Talbots, is that ability to experiment with the sizes! :-) Hopefully you will post your skirt for us to see! :-)
Iris - I totally agree (again) :-) Love this skirt.
Nicole - Nice! Glad to help. No worried about the red hanger sale unless you have something in mind, it will be around for another week for sure. ;-)
Sarah - Thanks, and a Talbots Giveaway? Oh, I will be there! For sure! :-)
I like the shoes you are wearing here! I noticed the details on them were not given. I need to update my work shoes as I have been working from home for the last 4 years and may stop soon. What brand are the shoes you are wearing? Toni
ReplyDeleteI really love this - the military with the denim is so unexpected, as is the skirt. But the colors uniting them all makes it pretty... well, awesome. :)
ReplyDeleteT - thanks! These are from Aerosoles, and are super old, but I really love lots of their shoes. Very comfy!
ReplyDeleteAmanda -thanks girl! I kno you love the jackets too! :-)
This is a genius combination! I LOVE that jacket with the skirt. Amazing!
